Why pizza?
We love pizza. Pizza is a crowd-pleasing meal that has been culturally reinterpreted across the globe. Pizza is also integrated into our pop culture (and true crime podcasts). While most people generally appreciate pizza, opinions on what makes a good pizza vary vastly.

What makes you qualified to write this?
We both eat pizza and have a lot to say about pizza. Maria is an actual writer by trade, motivated by reaching daily word counts. Tricia spends all day thinking about indicators and indices in the context of global health, which includes food-related metrics. Maria and Tricia have a knack for identifying new strange ways to leverage their skillsets.

I feel like I have seen a similar pizza journal before!
DOUBT IT. Most food and drink logs on the market track a lot of unquantifiable information, which makes it difficult to analyze results. Additionally, such logs often use imposed criteria. But you're a (vegan, white pizza-loving) snowflake! Stick it to the man and try out the Yum Index Pizza Metrics, where you can make up your own rules!

OMG. Does this journal entail math?
If Maria can do it, you can do it.

What type of math is involved/will my child be able to use this book?
To rate pizzas using Pizza Metrics, an individual must be able to add, multiply, subtract, and divide. The current youngest documented Pizza Metrics user is 9 years old. Not that it's a competition or anything.

What's your favorite pizza?
Maria - New York-style cheese pizza
Tricia - Stuffed deep dish pizza from Art of Pizza (Chicago, IL)
