DONUT METRICS
Donut fan? Data fan? With DONUT METRICS, you’ll be able to quantify, track, and compare your experiences with 52 donuts based on a weighted index scheme defined by your own criteria. DONUT METRICS is the second book in our series.
What's the difference between cake donuts and yeast donuts? Is a baked donut actually a *donut*? These questions are addressed in DONUT METRICS' field guide. Our Guided Donut Reflection will help you easily define and quantify your own metrics. Extra goodies in the book include instructions on hosting a donut tasting party and donut conversation starters. There are also chart and graph frameworks so you can plot and visualize your own data...including donut charts, which Tricia was graciously willing to allow in the book given the subject matter, but she still hates donut charts. Ready to start rating donuts? DONUT METRICS is available direct from Lulu.com, as well as from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If you are interested in purchasing Yum Index books wholesale to sell in your store, please email us at [email protected]. We also offer an educator discount for those that want to use Yum Index books as part of their curriculum! |
FAQ
Why donuts?
We both enjoy a good donut. Maria loves donuts so much she launched a popular blog called Stickers & Donuts, which she ran with Tricia. The blog did not feature many donuts, but there were some stickers, including an interview with famous sticker queen Mrs. Grossman.
What makes you qualified to write this?
We have eaten many donuts. Maria is an actual writer by trade, motivated by reaching daily word counts. Tricia spends all day thinking about indicators and indices in the context of global health, which includes food-related metrics. Maria and Tricia have a knack for identifying new strange ways to leverage their skillsets.
I feel like I have seen a similar donut journal before!
No, that's crazy. Most food and drink logs on the market track a lot of unquantifiable information, which makes it difficult to analyze results. Additionally, such logs often use imposed criteria. But you're a (glazed, spudnut-loving) snowflake! Stick it to the man and try out DONUT METRICS, where you can make up your own rules!
OMG. Does this journal entail math?
If Maria can do it, you can do it.
What type of math is involved/will my child be able to use this book?
To rate donuts using DONUT METRICS, an individual must be able to add, multiply, subtract, and divide. The current youngest documented PIZZA METRICS user is 9 years old. Not that it's a competition or anything.
What's your favorite donut?
